The recent bomb blasts in Soweto and Bronkhorstspruit must be condemned in the strongest possible terms. South Africa cannot allow such small groups with perverse ideologies to derail what millions of South Africans are working for.
These acts of terror have not only destroyed infrastructure, which can be repaired, but they have robbed a family of a wife, mother and sister. We convey our sympathies to the family of the late Mamatsieng Claurina Mokone.
As a Christian organisation, we are perturbed by the unprovoked attacks on religious structures. Mosques and temples are sanctuaries for people of faith. These attacks undermine the efforts of the religious sector in contributing towards nation building. We will not allow these barbaric acts to polarise the cooperation that exists among religious communities.
We offer our sympathy to the Muslim and Buddhist faith communities and assure them of our prayers and support.
