The National Executive Committee (NEC) is the governance
structure primarily responsible for the regular oversight of the programmes
and activities mandated by the resolutions of the National Conference and
Central Committee. Its membership, powers and duties are defined by Section
8 of the Council's Constitution.
The NEC includes the Officers of the Council, who are elected by the
Triennial National Conference, and the General Secretary. The Central
Committee may appoint upt to tweleve additional members. The NEC may
fill up to four of these seats by co-option if they are left vacant by the
Central Committee or by the resignation or removal of an NEC member.
