The South African Council of Churches is pained by the unfortunate sexual saga at Unisa.
While we have been pained by the events at Unisa, the SACC will continue to hold Advocate Motimele in the highest esteem for the role he played in the transformation process of Unisa, the General Secretary of SACC, the Rev Dr Molefe Tsele, said in a statement last night. "We also support the courageous stand Motimele has taken to step down as the chairperson of the Council, albeit under these unfortunate circumstances. Our hope and wish is that his decision will close this unfortunate chapter, and that Unisa will be allowed to heal its wound, and begin to focus on its core business and on issues of transformation."
"We would hope that Motimele’s resignation would be a final process towards allowing normality to come back to Unisa."
